a life creative
For her jewellery she hand cuts, winds and hammers, using a combination of materials such as copper, aluminium and brass, wood, glass and wool. The results are individual, articulated pieces, organic textured spirals, and flowing curlicues reminiscent of Victorian-era jewellery. I ended up with 3 pairs of earrings intended as gifts [and I may just keep them myself!].
As for Monika’s paintings… the photographic detail in her oils blows me away; she’s captured all at once a softness and vulnerability behind the public-figure edginess. I love the combination of the black and white subject against the block colour background. Enjoy!
Monika will also take commissions if you would like a portrait made from a photograph. She now has her shop up and running on Etsy, you can find her at Monika Martellini Art.
She also shares studio space with me in Santa Fiora, so I can pass on any messages you’d like to leave her.
